Liverpool eye Sporting winger as Salah deal stalls – report

Liverpool could be eyeing alternatives to Mohamed Salah as disagreements over the Roma winger’s transfer fee continues.

The latest report from the Liverpool Echo claims the Reds will ‘not be held to ransom’ by Roma, who apparently rejected a £28m bid for Salah.

The Serie A club are reportedly looking for £40m for the Egypt international, who scored 15 goals and amassed 13 assists in 31 Serie A games last season.

Now, Sky reports claim that Liverpool are in talks with Sporting Lisbon over a deal for winger Gelson Martins.

Martins, 22, has a release clause of £50m and could leave Sporting due to the fact they failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Lazio’s Keita Balde and Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa have also been linked with a move to Anfield as Jurgen Klopp
