Numancia claimed the first of the three promotion places to the Primera Liga on Sunday following their goalless draw at home to Alaves.
That result means that with four games remaining Numancia are 12 points clear of fourth-placed Real Sociedad, who they have a better head-to-head record against this season.
Soria-based Numancia were last in the top flight in the 2004/05 season, when they were relegated along with Albacete and Levante.
The other two promotion spots in the second division are currently held by Sporting Gijon and Malaga.
